During our first journey to Tibet, we found ourselves surrounded by a landscape unlike anywhere we had experienced before. Snow-covered mountains stretched into the distance, prayer flags moved gently in the wind, and the quiet atmosphere of ancient monasteries seemed to slow down time.

The story of Thangka Treasure began with a trip to Tibet.
Beneath the snow-capped mountains, prayer flags fluttered in the wind; deep within the monasteries, ancient colors flowed silently in the light and shadow. We were deeply attracted by the purity, solemnity, and tranquility of Tibetan aesthetics—it’s not just visual beauty, but a connection between humanity and nature, faith and life.
Following this inspiration, we came to Rebgong and met renowned local intangible cultural heritage painters. Following rituals passed down through generations, they patiently outlined each line, layering colors with mineral pigments such as cinnabar, azurite, and malachite, condensing the mountains and rivers of the plateau, faith, and prayers into a single Thangka. Every stroke is a mark left by time; every color carries sincere blessings.
Therefore, we founded Thangka Treasure. We hope to protect tradition with reverence, allowing more people to see Rebgong’s precious handicrafts; we also hope that the compassion, wisdom, and peace embodied in Thangka can transcend language and mountains, entering contemporary life.
